Job summary

UNC Lineberger seeks a detail-oriented laboratory professional to support BioSpecimen Processing in a BSL-2 core facility. The role involves manual and automated extraction of DNA and RNA from human biospecimens, quantitation, quality analysis, aliquoting, and storage under strict SOPs.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, experience with LIMS, and familiarity with pipettes, centrifuges, laminar flow hoods, autoclaves, and spectrophotometers.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in SOP-driven laboratory environments.
• Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Responsibilities

• Extract DNA and RNA from biospecimens and quantify quality.
• Process and aliquot biospecimens and maintain storage.
• Operate inventory/tracking system for specimens in a BSL-2 lab.
• Adhere to SOPs and deadlines while ensuring biosafety standards.
