Job summary

University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine seeks a Research Lab Tech C to support DNA isolations and biospecimen processing in the Penn Medicine BioBank. You will handle biospecimens, manage sample inventory, and assist with freezer monitoring, ensuring QA and SOP compliance while collaborating with clinical and research staff.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science and up to 1 year of applicable experience, strong communication, and meticulous organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Must possess ability to interact easily with clinical and research staff.
• Knowledge of PC applications and experience in database entry preferred.

Responsibilities

• DNA isolation - manual and automated
• Blood aliquotting and processing derivatives
• Bodily fluid and tissue processing
• Facilitate all aspects of sample inventory and distribution
• Freezer monitoring and rotating on-call freezer response, general lab maintenance
• Other duties as assigned
