Job summary

Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) offers master’s and doctoral-level internship and fellowship opportunities at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command – MRIID.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in data sciences, software engineering, bioinformatics, infectious disease or related fields.
• Discipline alignment with the opportunity’s eligibility criteria and recent degree (within five years).
• Experience or interest in NGS data analysis and computational biology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software tools for large-scale genomics data from Oxford Nanopore and Illumina sequencers.
• Apply computational methods to biosurveillance and synthetic biology research objectives.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and document code to industry standards.
