Job summary

Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) offers a 12-month research fellowship with WRAIR, focusing on technology transfer for biomedical innovations. The selected candidate will explore agreements such as confidential disclosures, material transfers, cooperative research and development, and clinical trials agreements to advance scientific progress.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in biomedical fields earned within five years of start date.
• Strong research and written/oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated capacity for creative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Learn about development of technology transfer agreements enabling WRAIR access to research resources.
• Learn and gain experience from Government agencies driving innovation across portfolios.
• Learn to assess scientific inventions for patenting, licensing, and marketing.
• Review new WRAIR inventions for potential patenting or licensing.
• Analyze WRAIR patent portfolios and understand scientific portfolios in biomedical fields.
• Learn patenting strategies and the role of patents in innovation.
• Identify inventions for submission into the IEC and develop relationships across entities.
