BIOS CUSTOMER FACING FIRMWARE ENGINEER

The Role

We are looking for a Technical Staff Engineer with an obsession for Firmware / BIOS.

The team needs an experienced platform BIOS engineer to work with customers as well as internal development teams on Server platform BIOS solutions for AMD’s cutting-edge server products. Come help customers solve challenging problems and optimize their use of AMD systems.

The Person

You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills. You are a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments. You possess excellent technical communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, verify, and/or validate firmware, software, and hardware components.
• Provide consultation to customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements.
• Support BIOS and software on customer server and embedded platforms with AMD solutions.
• Conduct customer training sessions.
• Develop, validate, and debug BIOS/firmware on AMD platforms.
• Assist customers in resolving issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address customer issues and implement new features.
• Support internal and external platform bring-up activities.

Preferred Experience

• Strong knowledge of server architecture, x86 processors, and related system components.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Expertise in C programming language and hardware debugging.
• Knowledge of UEFI is a plus.
• Knowledge of RAS on AMD systems is a plus.

Academic Credentials

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
