Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Biomanufacturing Associate to support a prominent client in Durham, NC. The role offers an hourly pay rate of $35–$42 for a 12-month assignment with potential extension or conversion based on performance and budget.

You will operate bioreactor equipment, run pilot-scale biologics development to meet CMC milestones, and document experiments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process development and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Biotechnology.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience or experience within a biotechnology company preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory setting, with knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment operation.
• Experience with biologics development at any scale and sterile technique preferred.
• Familiarity with stainless steel and single-use equipment, fed-batch processes, or pilot-scale bioprocessing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate stainless steel and single-use bioreactor equipment to support end-to-end fed-batch process development from thaw through drug substance (DS) fill.
• Execute pilot-scale biologics development runs at 50–1000L to support process development goals and Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) milestones.
• Plan, execute, document, and analyze laboratory experiments, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
• Aggregate experimental data and utilize modeling tools to predict process performance and support process optimization.
• Support technology transfers to manufacturing facilities, ensuring effective communication and documentation of process requirements.
• Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment, and assist with commissioning new equipment.
• Support laboratory operations, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and process performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process development, technical problem-solving, and innovation projects.
