Job summary

Harvard University’s Lewis Lab seeks a Research Fellow to develop and apply novel 3D bioprinting methods for disease models and therapeutic tissues. You will work with the PI and a senior postdoc, handling protocols, cell culture, imaging, and molecular biology tasks.

This 1-year position is not benefits-eligible, with a salary range of $50,000–$70,000 and potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in one of the listed disciplines is required.
  • Written and verbal skills for communicating scientific ideas.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work outside own discipline to achieve goals.
  • Experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescent imaging, confocal microscopy, ELISAs, and PCR.
  • Experience with microfluidics, bioprinting, or microfabrication is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cancer biology and/or immunology is a plus.
  • Prior experience in cell culture, biological assays and/or mechanical design (CAD).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development and execution of bioprinting protocols.
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary team across tissue engineering, design, materials science, and biology.
  • Conduct cell culture, microscopy and molecular biology tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Think creatively to develop and validate experimental protocols.
