Job summary

Beam Therapeutics Inc. is seeking a highly motivated engineering or science student to join our Technical Operations team as a co-op from January through June 2027.

You will support cross-functional validation of newly developed gene editing equipment and manufacturing processes to ensure readiness for regulatory submission and patient benefit. The role offers hands-on exposure to R&D, MSAT, QC/QA, and manufacturing interfaces.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering or Biological Sciences.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Highly organized with strong communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Hybrid work schedule with onsite 4-5 days/week.
• Enrollment status maintained throughout the internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of Beam’s gene editing manufacturing equipment, technologies, and processes.
• Review and verify technical data in risk assessments, protocols, and reports.
• Communicate findings to cross-functional teams via summaries, presentations, and updates.
• Support documentation of manufacturing process data for accuracy and compliance.
