Job summary

Amgen is hiring an Engineer I – Downstream or Upstream for multiple shifts at our Holly Springs site. You will join the Facilities & Engineering group to design, build, and qualify equipment for drug substance production, focusing on Downstream processes and integrating with GMP programs.

The role requires technical leadership, problem solving, and collaboration across Manufacturing, Quality and Process Development. A strong foundation in chemical or mechanical engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Engineering/Maintenance experience OR
• Associate’s degree and 6 years of Engineering/Maintenance experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Engineering/Maintenance experience OR
• Master’s degree

Responsibilities

• Provide system ownership for biopharmaceutical process equipment and lead improvements to equipment or facility systems.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development and Maintenance to ensure reliable plant operations.
• Develop maintenance programs, ensure spare parts availability, and coordinate activities to keep systems in proper working order.
• Ensure GMP, safety and regulatory compliance during commissioning and qualification of systems.
• Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to reduce downtime.
