Job summary

HID Global Corporation is seeking an Biometric Imaging Innovation Engineer to explore, prototype, and validate next‑generation biometric imaging technologies. You will work at the intersection of imaging science, embedded software, and hardware prototyping to create demonstrators and proof‑of‑concept platforms that guide product roadmaps.

The role requires deep expertise in imaging and camera systems, embedded development, software engineering, and hands‑on prototyping.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Imaging Science, or closely related field.
• 4–7 years of hands-on experience developing imaging systems, camera-based tech, or biometric sensing solutions.
• Experience developing and certifying biometric products is preferred.
• Experience with OpenCV, machine vision, image analysis, or AI-based image processing is preferred.
• Experience with embedded systems and prototype platforms (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc.) is preferred.
• Strong Python programming; C/C++ for embedded systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and develop biometric imaging technologies and camera systems.
• Design, build, and validate proof-of-concept systems and technology demonstrators.
• Develop embedded hardware and software on development platforms like Raspberry Pi/Arduino.
• Create image acquisition and processing software, primarily in Python.
• Integrate optics, illumination, sensors, and embedded processors into prototypes.
