Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to support research with wearable sensors and physiological monitoring systems. Duties include preparing devices, assisting with human-subject procedures, data transfer and QC, and helping prepare datasets and publications.

You will help with equipment maintenance, inventory, and study logistics, operating under senior personnel guidance. A relevant degree and 3–5 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of associate's degree; higher preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or related field highly preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of diversified experience in the medical electronics field or closely related training.
• Prior lab, engineering, or research experience involving biomedical devices or wearable technologies preferred.
• Familiarity with human-subject research, data collection, or laboratory environments preferred.
• Experience with basic data processing or computational tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare wearable devices and related research materials for experiments.
• Assist with laboratory-based and human-subject research procedures.
• Download, securely transfer, organize, and review data from wearable devices and study equipment; assist with QC and preliminary data processing.
• Assist in analysis, interpretation, and review of results and contribute to datasets, figures, tables, summaries, and publications.
• Maintain research equipment and study kits, track device assignment, use, return, and data transfer; ensure readiness for activities.
• Provide logistical and procedural support for research activities under supervision.
