Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in technical/electronics or equivalent experience required.
  • CBET certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three years' experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
  • Travel may be required based on customer or business needs.

Job description

Summary

The Biomedical Technician II (BMET II) is responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying the performance of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The role requires competence with applicable test equipment and tools, and may serve as a technical advisor to clinical staff. The BMET II assists in developing specifications for new equipment selection and demonstrates adherence to TriMedx core values.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Service – 40%
    • Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP).
    • Repair, install, and calibrate complex biomedical equipment.
    • Inform supervisors of repair status, inspections, unusual equipment situations, and customer concerns.
    • Work with, direct, and document subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians.
    • Maintain expertise through ongoing training and education.
    • Assist with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned.
  • Regulatory Compliance – 25%
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the equipment database (inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, service history).
    • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) and applicable regulations.
    • Ensure all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
  • Account Relationship Management – 25%
    • Build and maintain customer relationships.
    • Discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians.
    • Represent TriMedx services positively and integrate core values into job performance.
  • Inventory – 10%
    • Perform periodic inspections of current inventory status.
    • Verify completion of security analysis for new customer equipment.
    • Perform Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices.
    • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the equipment database.
    • Make recommendations regarding inventory.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
  • Complex computer skills: administer a system, interpret error codes, defragment drives, replace power supplies, and interpret computer codes.
  • Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required; variable travel may be required.
Education and Qualifications
  • Two-year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience required; waived if the applicant has received the TRIMEDX Trained Certification or completed an equivalent biomedical related certification program.
  • CBET (Biomedical Engineer Technician) certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
  • Travel may be required based on customer or business needs.
Benefits
