SUMMARY:

The Biomedical Technician I is responsible for testing, evaluating and performing routine repairs on medical equipment. They will accurately document service actions in a digital work order and demonstrate our customer is 1st” culture by taking ownership, doing the right thing and solving their problems.

IN THIS ROLE, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Daily servicing of medical equipment.
  • Providing the most cost effective and timely servicing of medical devices to meet all customer needs.
  • Documenting essential details of service actions and observations of pump conditions and operations. This crucial process will allow people to understand the history of a device and provide the customer with more beneficial information.
  • Accurately follow established process and procedures to diagnosis, test and recertify devices.
  • Complete routine repairs on a limited number of pump models (approx. 10% of fleet).
  • Accurately entering work orders with correct parts, labor, equipment info and performance results into the Service Information System.
  • Perform minor evaluations and/or estimations on the devices.
  • Expand pump model knowledge by learning new devices at the customers need
  • Remain current and knowledgeable on all areas of processes and procedures
  • Remain flexible, open and eager to learn from fellow employees to best meet and exceed the customers’ expectations at all times.
  • Understand and execute principals of 5S workplace organization.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Troubleshooting and repair in electronic or mechanical devices experience and/or training
  • Exceptional verbal and communication skills as well as strong organizational skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include word, excel and outlook.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and match numbers.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
