Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Texas is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Assistant to support a cancer biology research lab. You will perform standard experiments on patient or animal-derived specimens under supervision, maintain equipment, and assist with data collection and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school graduation; no previous work experience.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques, cell culture, or working knowledge with animal models of cancer preferred.
• Knowledge of the roles of post-translational modifications in cancers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting laboratory experiments, including cell culture, Western blotting, RT-qPCR, and ELISAs.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
• Conduct routine laboratory assays.
• Participate in animal studies with mouse models of breast cancer.
• Contribute to data collection, entry, and analysis of experimental results.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and manuscripts related to the research findings.
• Perform other research-related duties as assigned by the principal investigator (PI).
