Job summary

GE HealthCare in the United States seeks a Biomedical Equipment Service Supervisor to provide local customer interface and day-to-day leadership for assigned accounts, ensuring service excellence per contract. The role requires onsite work at customer locations, with travel to the Houston, TX area as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field with 4+ years servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education with 4+ years servicing medical equipment; OR high school diploma/GED with 6+ years servicing medical equipment.
  • Minimum of four years as Biomedical Technician with one-year progressive team leadership supervising/t coaching technical personnel and resolving customer relations issues.
  • Experience in a customer service environment with knowledge of customer account coordination.
  • Experience managing financial and administrative requirements of the position.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to explain technical issues to customers clearly.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and reports (SEDs).
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation using devices (iPad, iPhone) and Microsoft Office; willingness to travel outside assigned region.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).

  • Ensure customer contractual service obligations are achieved.
  • Prioritize service activities, assist with assigning personnel, and follow up on commitments.
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with DNV standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Lead projects such as expansions, renovations, and new facility openings.
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health & Safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor service delivery processes and service execution per policies.
  • Promote service quality through regular customer and team engagement.
  • May provide instruction to hospital personnel on equipment operation, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current standards for safe and effective use of medical equipment.
  • Assist Area Service Leaders with coaching, developing and training staff.
  • Assist with appraisals, status changes, promotions, disciplinary actions, and employee questions.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates, colleagues and customers.
  • Share on-call and service call escalation responsibilities.
  • Function as Site Leader and be responsible for customer relationships at assigned sites.

  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of experience servicing medical equipment
  • A minimum of four years' experience as a Biomedical Technician and one-year progressive team leadership experience effectively supervising and coaching technical personnel, as well as effectively resolving customer relations issues.
  • Qualified experience in a customer service environment with resulting knowledge of customer account coordination.
  • Experience managing financial and administrative requirements of the position.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and reports (SEDs).
  • Proficiency in completing electronic documentation using technological tools (e.g., Ipad, Iphone) and familiar with technological programs (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Willing to travel outside of the assigned region.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
