Job summary

The University of Chicago BSD RAO - Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology is seeking a Lab Assistant to provide essential technical and administrative support for biomedical imaging and radiation oncology research. You will help with organizing files, coordinating meetings, and maintaining records while ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Under direct supervision, you will collect data, assist in analysis, prepare reports and support a high-tech laboratory

Qualifications

• Education: vocational training or related field experience (not typically requiring a four-year degree).
• Work Experience: < 2 years in a related job discipline.
• Certifications: ---
• Preferred Education: a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Organize lab files and materials; maintain records and documentation.
• Coordinate routine lab meetings, schedules and materials.
• Maintain shared folders and data organization.
• Assist with data transfer, de-identification and SOP adherence.
• Maintain equipment and inventory records; assist with purchases.
• Coordinate lab access, onboarding and IRB training.
• Support lab operations and documentation under supervision.
