Description:

Biomedical Imaging Engineer

Are you passionate about cutting-edge medical technology and providing top-notch service? Join our team as a Biomedical Imaging Engineer at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center!

Role Overview: As a Biomedical Imaging Engineer, you'll be responsible for the daily service and repair needs of our advanced imaging equipment, covering multiple modalities such as Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, and Rad/Fluro, along with other diagnostic imaging devices. Your role will include:

  • Performing on-site engineering support, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Conducting inspections, calibrations, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Performing 80% of repairs and 100% calibrations on equipment, while working with OEM and Biomed Imaging Specialist.
  • Ensuring high-quality service delivery and expediting the resolution of service issues.
  • Maintaining equipment safety and performance levels, achieving over 96% clinical availability.
  • Documenting and maintaining detailed records in our imaging database.
  • Developing a basic understanding of PACS and hospital networking.
  • Consulting with end users and management on emerging imaging technologies as it pertains to imaging equipment.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of training materials.
  • Providing basic on-site in-service training for proper equipment operation.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities and identifying process and product quality gaps.

This is a full-time, days position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center. This is a union position and will require registration with 1199.

Required Criteria

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Vendor Level Certification
  • 2-4 years of experience in repairing electronic and mechanical equipment
  • 12 months of current technical experience (modality specific)
  • Strong technical background in one or more Medical Imaging disciplines

Salary Range: $54.64/Hourly
