Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support clinical and laboratory systems, perform preventive maintenance, testing, calibration, and basic repairs. The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and 1–3 years of relevant hospital experience; CBET certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related technical field required.
• 1–3 years of experience with biomedical or medical equipment in healthcare setting preferred.
• CBET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on biomedical and clinical equipment per schedules and manufacturer specs.
• Conduct testing, calibration, and safety checks to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on medical and laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation in CMMS.
• Travel between Montefiore Einstein sites to provide on-site support.
