Position Details

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  1. Inspect, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and repair a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including patient monitors, defibrillators, medical imaging equipment (X-rays, CT scanners, ultrasound), voice-controlled operating tables, electric wheelchairs, and other advanced dental, optometric, and ophthalmic equipment.
  2. Perform routine scheduled maintenance to ensure all equipment functions properly.
  3. Conduct safety checks and train practitioners on the safe operation of equipment.
  4. Disassemble equipment to identify malfunctions or inaccuracies, repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble and calibrate.
  5. Notify manufacturers or distributors of irreparable malfunctions to arrange repairs.
  6. Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
  7. Maintain inventories and records of supplies and parts.
  8. Work near patients without causing disturbance.
  9. Document issues, work performed, and system or configuration changes.
  10. Participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality, communicate issues, and stay updated on new developments and policies.
  11. Adhere to the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
  2. Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering; military training certifications (e.g., 4A2X1, 68A, HM-8478) are also acceptable.
  3. Experience with CT scanners and similar sophisticated equipment.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team professionally.
  5. Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
  6. Flexibility to adapt to sudden changes and shift requirements.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills for timely inquiries and responses.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work is typically performed in an indoor/office environment.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods may be required.
