Job summary

Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and verify complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The BMET may advise clinical staff on safe operation of equipment and assist in equipment specification development.

The position requires an associates degree in a technical/electronics field (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of biomedical equipment experience; CBET certification

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technical/electronics or equivalent military experience or two years of equivalent experience.
• Technical Certification (CBET) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair and calibrate biomedical equipment and systems.
• Ensures regulatory compliance.
• Provides advanced support of equipment for direct patient care.
• Interacts with clinical health providers to identify technology-based problems and solutions.
• Prepare documentation and reports accurately and timely.
