Job summary

Medasource is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and verify performance of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The role requires deep knowledge of general biomed equipment and proficiency with the test tools used in performance verification.

Qualifications

• Requires Associates or Bachelors in a technical/electronics field or equivalent military training.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
• Ability to use all applicable test equipment and tools for inspection, repair, calibration and verification.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and verify performance of complex biomedical equipment.
• Perform PA inspections, scheduled maintenance, ESI and OVP procedures.
• Inform supervisors about repairs status and unusual equipment situations.
• Maintain accuracy of equipment database including PA schedules, nomenclature and service history.
• Adhere to MEMP and regulatory compliance; follow applicable policies and procedures.
• Complete all service documentation accurately.

Job description

The Biomedical Equipment Technician is required to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and verify the performance of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. Specifically, the technician will need to have knowledge of and experience with general biomed equipment. The individual should be competent in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of these duties.

• May serve as technical adviser to the medical and clinical staff in the safe operation and use of clinical equipment.
• Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on complex and intricate biomedical equipment
• Repair, install, and calibrate complex and intricate biomedical equipment
• Inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include the inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history
• Adheres to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliance, and other, applicable policies and procedures
• Responsible for accurately completing all service documentation

Education & Experience:
