Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to maintain, diagnose, repair, calibrate and support a broad range of medical equipment across the health system. The role requires strong electronics experience, computer literacy, and collaboration with clinical users and manufacturers.

The BMET II will perform preventive maintenance, be involved in equipment installations, and participate in after-hours on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years related work experience.
• 2 years experience in the general field of electronics.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, tests, troubleshoots to component level, repair, and calibrate to manufacturer specifications all types of electronic and electro-mechanical instrumentation.
• Utilizes schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals; conducts preventive maintenance inspections.
• Prepares and maintains records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance; assists in installation of capital equipment purchases.
• Performs additional support tasks within the Department of Clinical Engineering and interfaces with manufacturers on projects.
• Maintains knowledge of advances in electronics and equipment changes.
• Participation in after-hours emergency service coverage (On Call).
• Works beyond the parameters of the job description when needed.
