Job summary

BJC HealthCare in St. Louis (Barnes Jewish Hospital) is seeking a Biomed II Tech to perform preventive maintenance, calibration, testing and repair of medical instrumentation onsite.

This role requires hands-on troubleshooting and providing support to hospital staff. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of biomedical experience; a High School diploma or GED is required, and an Associate’s degree in Biomed Engineering Technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2-5 years of biomedical experience preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Biomed Engineering Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failed equipment.
• Repairs and calibrates equipment to bring them up to the original manufacturers’ specifications.
• Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
