Job summary

BJC HealthCare, a leading nonprofit health care system, is seeking a Biomedical Technician for an onsite full-time role serving hospitals and health facilities in the St. Louis region.

The role involves maintenance, calibration, testing and repairs of medical instrumentation and systems, with emphasis on safety and reliability. Ideal candidates have an electronics background or related experience; High School diploma or GED is required, with preferred Associate’s degree in Engineering/BIomed

Qualifications

• Biomedical license/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, testing, electrical safety inspections, and repairs to faulty equipment.
• Repairs and calibrates equipment to meet manufacturers' specifications.
• Analyzes symptoms, defines problems, compares options, implements solutions and evaluates results; troubleshoots when needed.
• Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Biomedical Technician performs performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of medical instrumentation, device and systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failedequipment.
• Repairs and calibrates equipment and devices to bring them up to the original manufacturers' specifications.
• Conducts analyses to identify symptoms, definition of problems, option comparisons, appropriate solutions, implementation, and evaluation of results, troubleshooting if necessary.
• Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
