The Biomedical Equipment Technician I is a highly technical position that supports patients through high-quality biomedical equipment maintenance and technical assistance for clinical staff in a professional, timely, and cost-effective manner. The role requires a high level of specialized technical skills in troubleshooting, testing, and documentation to maintain various equipment used in diagnostics, treatment, laboratory, radiology, surgery, and other departments.
Minimum: Associate of Applied Sciences Degree or a certificate of equivalent Military/Technical education in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology or Electronics Engineering/Equipment Technology. Preferred: Associate of Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent Military/Technical education in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology.
Minimum: Internship or equivalent experience in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology. Ability to work independently and in teams, especially under high-stress situations. Preferred: None.
Minimum: Valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred: Certifications such as CBET, CRES, or CLES from AAMI Credentials Institute.
