Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Biomedical Technician to support the Bio-Med team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The role focuses on hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance of diverse medical equipment, with increasing responsibility in planning, research, and technical training for clinical staff.

The technician will collaborate across service areas, document issues, and coordinate vendor services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; electronics equipment maintenance experience required.
• 2 years' electronics equipment maintenance experience is expected.
• Associate Degree (2-year) preferred; if completed, no additional experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of medical equipment and technologies.
• Participate in equipment planning, research, and technical consultation for clinical staff.
• Coordinate vendor services and special projects within assigned service areas.
• Document issues and follow-up corrective actions on work orders; train equipment users as needed.
• Coordinate new equipment evaluations and installations; assist with acceptance testing.

Education
