Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Biomed Engineering Tech - I to perform evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on medical devices with limited supervision. The role emphasizes patient safety, regulatory compliance, and strong vendor relationships across multiple sites.

The position requires training in healthcare technology management, CMMS documentation, on-call rotations, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/Equivalent - Required.
• Professional Certification preferred or 1-3 years of related experience.
• Technical School/1 Year College Preferred.
• Technical School/2 Years College / Associate’s Degree, Military - Minimum.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment aligned with the organization's mission, vision and values.
• Documents and maintains records of all work activities in the CMMS.
• Participates in continuing education and on-call rotation as directed; travels to other sites as needed.
• Routinely performs corrective and preventive maintenance of devices and related follow-up communications.
• Coordinates replacement parts and/or service on devices and ensures accurate invoicing.
