Job summary

The Richmond VA Medical Center seeks Biomedical Equipment Support Specialists (BESS) to join its Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) department. These positions troubleshoot, repair and perform planned maintenance on a range of medical devices and clinical systems, supporting the medical equipment management program.

Applicants pending licensure may be referred; basic requirements include US citizenship, an associate degree or related certification, or DOD HTM training.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
• Qualifications may be met via Grandfathering Provision as described in VA standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform planned maintenance on a range of medical devices and clinical systems.
• Support the medical equipment management program within Healthcare Technology Management.
• Performs other duties as assigned in HTM.
