Job summary

GE HealthCare in the Dallas/Fort Worth area seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 to respond to service calls within hospitals, evaluate and repair biomedical equipment, and perform planned maintenance to support patient care.

You will diagnose issues, document work, and follow hospital protocols while maintaining tools for timely, accurate repairs and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher, or equivalent with 4+ years in medical equipment service.
  • 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.
  • Experience interpreting schematic diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues, implement repairs, and perform planned maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and document all work performed.
  • Maintain relationships with customers and communicate status and follow-up.
  • Care for tools and test equipment to ensure timely, accurate repairs.
  • Identify and report quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization.

Job Description Summary

The Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 will respond to service calls within a hospital or healthcare system in the Dallas/Forth Worth service area.

The Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 will evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance on biomedical equipment, providing service excellence to drive customer satisfaction.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform planned maintenance and safety/environmental inspections to support our customers’ ability to deliver healthcare.

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met; ensure documentation of all work performed is captured.

  • Maintain strong relationships and frequent communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain proper care of tools and test equipment to ensure calibration and ability to deliver timely and accurate repairs/maintenance to our customers.

  • Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization to ensure services are provided with the highest ethical standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree, Bachelor's degree, military education or High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.

  • 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment

  • Experience with electronic digital circuitry and electronic and electro-mechanical devices

  • Experience interpreting schematic diagrams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to be available after-hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.

  • Ability to lift/move up to 35lbs.
