The Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) provides clinical equipment services under close supervision. Responsibilities include validation and inspection of clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety, and proper operation. The technician performs planned maintenance, calibrations, and repairs of general biomedical equipment. They assist other technicians with troubleshooting and major repairs of complex equipment. The individual demonstrates adherence to core values such as respect, creating value, initiating change, and integrity in all professional interactions.
An associate degree in a technical/electrical field, equivalent military training, or equivalent experience is required.
Less than one year of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment is preferred.
Valid state driver's license is required.
