Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to maintain and manage medical equipment across its network and contracted customers. The BMET performs preventive maintenance inspections and repairs with a focus on patient safety, quality customer service, regulatory compliance and cost containment.

This role requires an Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field (or equivalent military training/experience), strong troubleshooting skills,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field preferred; equivalent military training accepted.
• Hospital-based internships are preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair skills.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on medical equipment.
• Repair medical equipment with emphasis on patient safety.
