Blue Water Thinking seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to maintain networked medical devices, ensure safety, and support cybersecurity and Cerner integration within a VA facility environment.

The role emphasizes preventive and corrective maintenance, software updates, security protocols, and collaboration with IT and clinical staff to uphold high patient care standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in applied science or equivalent training.
• Three+ years hospital or healthcare experience maintaining medical equipment with networking.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection, security tools, and information security concepts.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, VLANs, IP addressing and DICOM standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions following manufacturer specs.
• Carry out incoming inspections for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with IT/cybersecurity to maintain device security and patient data protection.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per instructions.
• Monitor hazard recalls and coordinate with vendors for resolution.
• Perform software repairs/updates and maintain CMMS records.
• Provide staff training on networked medical equipment usage.
