Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Bioengineering is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician Trainee to test, calibrate, fabricate, repair, and maintain electronic and electro-mechanical equipment of limited complexity under supervision in a patient care environment.

You will participate in on-the-job training, attend courses, and progress toward a Biomedical Equipment Technician role within the team, with a schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, on campus.

Qualifications

• Two-year electronic technology program completion within past five years.
• Strong understanding of medical electronic equipment maintenance.
• Ability to follow supervised procedures and document outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate, repair, and maintain electronic and electro-mechanical equipment of limited complexity.
• Document results of equipment safety and performance tests.
