Job summary

GE HealthCare in Savannah, GA is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of biomedical equipment in a hospital setting. This on-site role supports Memorial University Medical Center and requires relocation assistance.

The position is 1st shift with opportunities to mentor B-Met 1 technicians and participate in safety compliance, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field, or equivalent military training.
• 4–8 years of maintenance/repair experience with biomedical equipment in hospital/clinical settings.
• Basic understanding of electronics, electrical safety, and biomedical principles.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license may be required for travel to client sites.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine preventive maintenance on various biomedical equipment per schedules.
• Perform basic diagnostic testing and troubleshooting to identify malfunctions.
• Repair/replace faulty components under supervision.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections and verification tests.
• Maintain accurate service records with parts used and equipment status.
• Mentor and lead other B-Met 1 technicians on complex repairs.
• Adhere to GE Medical Systems and facility safety protocols.
• Communicate equipment status and repair timelines to clinical staff.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with technology.
• Manage tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory.
