Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to maintain and repair general medical equipment, perform safety inspections, calibrations, and preventive maintenance, and keep accurate maintenance records.

Candidates should have an associate degree in electrical/electronic/mechanical tech, 1–3 years' healthcare equipment maintenance experience, proficiency with MS Office, and the ability to read service manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, or mechanical tech.
• 1–3 years’ progressive electronics/electrical/electro-mechanical maintenance in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and database recordkeeping; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares equipment for repair and inspection.
• Performs preventive maintenance, calibration and safety inspections of general medical equipment.
• Disassembles and inspects equipment using hand tools and testing equipment.
• Prepares paperwork to order parts, arrange factory service or vendor onsite support.
• Responds to emergency repair calls for patient-care equipment and documents activities.
