Location Bangor, ME
Description The Biomedical Equipment Technician Level II or III is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, calibration, and repair on a wide array of biomedical equipment. This position requires extensive technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and train junior staff. The technician will also be involved in project management and equipment planning, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally and complies with safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct advanced maintenance, calibration, and repairs on complex biomedical equipment.
· Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions using advanced technical knowledge.
· Ensure all biomedical equipment meets industry standards and safety regulations.
· Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance, calibration, and repair actions.
· Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior technicians and clinical staff.
· Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support, equipment updates, and recalls.
· Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of new biomedical equipment.
· Manage projects related to biomedical equipment installation and upgrades.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or DoD BMET School Graduate, or Active AAMI ACI credentials.
· 2-8 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
· Expert knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
· Ability to work independently and lead a team.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
· Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems.
· Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) strongly preferred.
Contract Length 3-year contract with options for 2 additional years.
Salary
$ 65,000.00 - $ 75,000.00

Work Environment The work environment may involve exposure to hazardous materials and situations that require following safety protocols and wearing protective equipment. The role also includes on-call duties.
Physical Demands

· Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
