Job summary

Kinoped in Sacramento, CA is seeking an engineer to join the robotics team developing the machine itself: actuators, control, power, and motion systems for a multi-joint robotic limb with precision and safety.

You will tackle torque equations, wiring harnesses, and control loops, collaborating closely with hardware and software to bring integrated motion from concept to real-world performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong Python, plus C or C++ for real-time or embedded control.
• Experience with ZeroMQ or ROS2 for inter-process and real-time messaging.
• Working knowledge of real-time control: impedance, admittance, and position/trajectory control.
• Familiarity with robot description and kinematics tools (URDF, ROS/ROS2).

Responsibilities

• Develop actuators, control, power, and motion systems for a multi-joint robotic limb.

Overview

You'll join the robotics team developing the machine itself: the actuators, control, power, and motion systems that make a multi-joint robotic limb move precisely and safely. The work spans torque equations, wiring harnesses, and control loops — close to the hardware throughout.

Required Qualifications

• Estimating torque or force from motor current
