Job description

The Biomedical Electronics Repair Technician position works independently with lab staff and the R & D Support to ensure that laboratory equipment is installed, serviced, maintained, repaired, and calibrated in an effective and timely manner. Work in a fast-paced production environment that provides support to the Screening Area for the Beckman Coulter AU5800 instruments.

Pay Range: $28.00 - $39.09 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

The work schedule for this position is: Monday–Friday 9:00 pm – 5:30 am

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform and document scheduled or unscheduled repairs, maintenance, and calibrations on laboratory equipment and support systems.
• Develop and maintain a system to document activity, downtime, repairs, and component replacement parts.
• Maintain a real-time instrument dashboard for all instruments, updated daily.
• Schedule work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Organize work to maintain efficiency, ensuring all critical tasks are completed daily.
• Interact and coordinate with department managers and supervisors to minimize impact on production.
• Report daily to management on the status of work requests or work in progress.
• Assist with SOPs and other various functions as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Biomedical Engineering, Computer Repair, Electro-Mechanical Repair, Biology, or equivalent training and experience.
• Prior experience performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and calibrations is highly preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical problems on analytical instruments.
• Previous experience with Beckman Coulter AU5800 instruments highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent prioritization skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 30 lbs. unaided.
• Comfortable working in noisy, fast-paced environments.
