Job summary

Cedars-Sinai's Tatonetti Lab is seeking a Research Associate Data Scientist to contribute to biomedical research using programming, data mining, statistics, and ML. You'll work on data processing, model development, and deployment, with results communicated via publications and conferences.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in a quantitative field; experience with R/Python; familiarity with PHI/HIPAA; strong English skills; and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• No prior professional experience required.
• Intermediate programming in R or Python.
• Biomedical ML experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of PHI/HIPAA data privacy and security.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, evaluation, and application of ML methods for biomedical data.
• Present results at meetings, conferences, and in publications.
• Create data pipelines using R, Python, and SQL.
• Develop sustainable data science infrastructure and follow best practices.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to assess analytical approaches.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists and principal investigators on research questions.
• Test and validate code ensuring robustness with version control (GitHub).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
