Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Mathematical Biostatistician to support NIH objectives in Bethesda, MD. This full-time, on-site role involves collaboration with investigators on study design, data analysis, and interpretation for heart, lung, and blood disease research.

The candidate should hold a PhD in statistics/biostatistics or a related field, with 3+ years of biomedical data experience and proficiency in R/SAS/Python. A federal public trust clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• PhD in statistics, biostatistics or related field; a master’s degree with three additional years of experience can be substituted for PhD.
• Minimum THREE (3) years of experience with biomedical and clinical research study data.
• Experience working with statistical software such as R or S+, Python, and/or SAS.
• Significant experience conducting large-scale data analysis.
• Proven track record of productivity as judged by peer-reviewed publications recommended.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with investigators on design, conduct, interpretation, and analysis of data to address questions in heart, lung, and blood diseases.
• Prepare data and results for presentation/publication with investigator collaboration.
• Validate or modify statistical methodologies for improved understanding and practice.
• Apply established or new analytical techniques to study data.
• Develop hypotheses and approaches for studies using state-of-the-art methods.
• Provide expert statistical consultation to NHLBI and related groups.
