Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Biomedical Clinical Engineer to ensure safe and effective use of medical equipment across the hospital. You will apply and implement medical technology to optimize healthcare delivery, support quality and safety improvements, and participate in planning and regulatory compliance activities.

The role includes training biomedical technicians, auditing inspections, and acting as a consultant for physicians, IT, and administrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or related field
• Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field preferred
• One year of healthcare-related experience

Responsibilities

• Serves as department point of contact for outside vendors on large scale projects.
• Provides in-service training for physicians, nurses, Biomedical department staff and other contract personnel in the proper and safe operation of medical equipment.
• Leads/participates in incident investigations involving medical equipment and coordinating maintenance training.
