Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking a Biomedical Technician I to learn how to repair medical products and work in a team environment under supervision. The technician will assist in preventative maintenance and learn to resolve routine technical problems independently.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma, and an associate's degree in electronics or Biomedical Engineering. This is a full-time position with first shift hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in biomedical equipment repair preferred.

Job Summary

The Biomedical Technician I shall focus on learning how to repair medical products. The Biomedical Technician I will learn to work independently, as well as, in a team environment while under direct supervision. This individual may attend factory training classes and apply lessons learned through OJT training and experience. Additionally, the Technician will begin by assisting in preventative maintenance and service repair. With rapid progress in the knowledge of medical products, this individual will display the ability to resolve routine technical problems independently. This position may have additional tasks assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or equivalent training/experience in electronics or Biomedical Engineering preferred. Previous experience in at least one specialty area relating to the field of biomedical equipment repair preferred.

License & Certification

None

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Some experience with mechanical devices and tools and test equipment, preferred.
• Fundamentals of Dicom & Networking preferred.
• Experience with electronic circuit boards, processors and computer hardware including applications, programming and systems functionality, preferred.
• PC competency, to include basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases preferred.
