Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Biomed Technician I to join our hospital support team. You will perform maintenance and repair of patient care equipment, install and calibrate devices, and help ensure safety and regulatory compliance within the Medical Equipment Management Program.

You will work under supervision, with after-hours on-call rotations and potential on-site schedules. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential to support clinicians and keep equipment

• Be available to work after hours and participate in on-call rotating schedules.

Responsibilities

The Biomed Technician I performs maintenance and repair dutiesunder close supervision of BSI management. The Biomed Tech I is the front line employee who is most visible to the clinician utilizing the patientcare equipment included in the Medical Equipment Management Program. He/she supports patient diagnosing and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating, and repairing biomedical equipment; while maintaining safe operations. Will regularly need to be available to work after hours and be scheduled for on call rotating schedule. This individual also, ensures that the biomedical equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Required qualifications:

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related disciplinewith 0-1 years’ experience orequivalent combinationof education/experience preferred.
• Field related technical certifications (like A+, CBET, CCE or CHTM) preferred.
• Knowledge of TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, other applicable standards and regulationspreferred.
