Carle Health in Peoria, IL seeks a BMET 2 to maintain clinical equipment under minimal supervision. The role involves installation, calibration, preventive and predictive maintenance, and on-call repairs for biomedical devices used in patient care.
Qualifications include CABT/CBET within 1 year, an associate’s degree in a related field, and a valid IL driver's license. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
The BMET 2, with minimal supervisions, maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of biomedical equipment. Responsible for performing preventive, predictive and repair maintenance and other scheduled services on Biomedical and related equipment. Perform repairs and other technical activities with minimum supervision. Requires good oral and written communication and customer service skills. Maintains equipment inventory records and parts. The BMET 2 can teach basic skills to BMET level one technicians and can mentor others in basic skills. BMET Comprehensive understanding of common clinical terminology as well as that of life sciences such as anatomy and physiology. The BMET 2 demonstrates the ability to solve service line customer service problems.
Certifications: Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI); Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI); Driver's License - Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS). Education: Experience In Lieu of Education; Associate's Degree: Related Field, Work Experience: Biomedical.
The compensation range for this position is $24.53per hour - $40.97per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
