BJC HealthCare is seeking a Biomedical Technician II for an on-site role at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The position focuses on performance assurance, installation, testing, calibration, and repair of biomedical instrumentation and systems.

A strong background in biomed is preferred and applicants should have related certifications. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, device repairs, and staff education to ensure safe and effective operation of medical equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Biomed Engineering Technology preferred.
• 5-10 years experience listed under preferred qualifications.
• Supervisor experience: 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failed equipment.
• Repairs and calibrates equipment and devices to bring them up to the original manufacturers’ specifications.
• Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
• Conducts troubleshooting to identify symptoms, definition of problems, option comparisons, appropriate solutions, implementation, and evaluation of results.

Role Purpose

Biomedical Technician conducts performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of medical instrumentation, device and systems of one or more categories of Biomedical instrumentation.
