Corewell Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician in Grand Rapids, MI to repair electronic, electrical, and mechanical medical devices and to perform routine preventive maintenance. You will follow detailed procedures, document service activities, and coordinate with vendors to ensure equipment readiness.

The role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a commitment to patient safety. Full-time daytime schedule with 40 hours weekly at Butterworth Hospital.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma
• Required: Professional experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and/or conducting preventative maintenance on equipment
• Preferred: Experience working with medical equipment
• Preferred: Experience working in healthcare

Responsibilities

• Repairs and Maintenance: Perform electronic, electrical, and mechanical repairs/corrective maintenance on medical equipment, including specialized physiological life support and non-life support devices. Ensure timely and quality repairs to maintain equipment readiness for departmental use. Coordinate repairs with vendors and departments as needed.
• Scheduled Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance on various types of medical equipment and systems, including specialized systems. Adhere to maintenance schedules to optimize equipment use and dependability for employees and medical staff, ensuring a safe environment for patients. Ensure required preventive maintenance (PM) is completed in compliance with established job plans and procedures.
• Testing and Procedures: Follow detailed written testing and repair procedures.
• Installations and Inspections: Perform installations and incoming inspections. Coordinate installations with vendors when required and validate vendor actions.

This role involves following detailed testing and repair procedures, conducting installations and inspections, and maintaining accurate service documentation. The technician will work under close supervision, ensuring equipment readiness and safety compliance. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
