Job summary

Avita Health System in Ontario is seeking a Biomedical Technician in the Biomed Department to test, repair, and maintain medical devices in compliance with CMS, NFPA, and NAIHO standards. This role reports to the Biomedical Manager and supports a safe environment for patients and staff.

Required qualifications include an Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Engineering Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology (or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training in Electronic Engineering Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology.
• One year of biomedical equipment experience in a clinical engineering environment preferred.
• Two years of experience preferred for advanced duties.

Responsibilities

• Test, repair, and maintain medical devices per CMS, NFPA, and NAIHO standards.
• Follow directions from the Biomedical Manager to ensure compliance and a safe environment for patients and staff.

Education

Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent

Biomed Equipment Technician

We’re currently seeking a dedicated Biomedical Technician to join our Biomed Department at our Ontario location.

Position Overview

The Biomedical Technician is responsible for testing, repairing, and maintaining medical devices within the organization in accordance to CMS, NFPA, and NAIHO standards. The Biomedical Technician takes direction from the Biomedical Manager to maintain organizational compliance with CMS, NFPA, NAIHO, and other industry standards to ensure a safe environment in regards to medical equipment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate of Applied Science Degree (Electronic Engineering Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent) or equivalent training required (e.g. military).
• One year previous experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred.

Preferred:

• Two years of previous experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred.
