Job summary

Marist University seeks a Clinical Lab Director to lead operational, educational, and research efforts for biomechanics and simulation within the health professions programs. The role ensures readiness of facilities, directs staff, and partners with faculty to deliver accredited, high-quality learning experiences.

The candidate will manage resources, support research activities, and advance laboratory capabilities across the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Nursing programs

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in biomechanics or related field, engineering, health sciences, healthcare education, nursing, or PA/MPAS/MSPAS.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing clinical, teaching, research, or simulation laboratories in higher education, healthcare, or research settings.
• Experience overseeing laboratory operations and staff in an educational or research setting.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily operations of simulation, instructional, research, and laboratory facilities to support health programs.
• Supervise laboratory staff and provide training on equipment, safety, and research methods.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop and evaluate simulation-based learning experiences.
• Develop and maintain laboratory policies, safety protocols, and records.
• Manage equipment, procurement, calibration, maintenance, and budgeting for readiness.
• Support faculty research including biomechanical analysis and data handling.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve facilities and services.
• Other duties as assigned.
