Job summary

High Point University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month core faculty position in biomechanics. The role requires a DPT or PT degree with a related doctorate, a track record of peer‑reviewed scholarship, and experience with movement science

Qualifications

  • DPT degree or masters/bachelors PT degree with an academic doctorate in related field (required).
  • Terminal academic doctorate strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated peer‑reviewed scholarship and a clear future research agenda (required).
  • Experience teaching biomechanics or movement science in higher education; health-professions education preferred.
  • Experience with human-movement technologies (motion capture, EMG, treadmills, wearables, etc.).
  • Evidence of mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • External grant activity or credible plan for externally funded scholarship (preferred).
  • North Carolina licensure or eligibility preferred when aligned with background but not required for biomechanics search.

Responsibilities

  • Teach biomechanics and related content in the DPT curriculum.
  • Advise and mentor DPT students and contribute to team-taught courses.
  • Establish or extend a productive research program in human movement or related fields.
  • Manage and support biomechanics laboratory use and safety, data management, and equipment planning.
  • Engage in service activities within the Department, School, and University.
