Responsibilities

• Manage sample receipt, accessioning, tracking, and lifecycle using StarLIMS.
• Coordinate sample processing, labeling, storage, and ultra-low temperature monitoring.
• Reconcile inventory data across databases for trial testing lists.
• Organize and execute timely biomarker sample shipments between sites and labs.
• Oversee vendor relationships, service levels, and operational issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Biomarker Scientists, and IT to improve processes.

Job Summary

Join a premier global pharmaceutical leader onsite in North Chicago, IL as a Biomarker Sample Operations Associate III. In this key 2-year contract role, you will manage end-to-end bio-sample operations, ensure compliance with clinical trial protocols, and drive continuous process improvements within Precision Medicine.

Location: North Chicago, Illinois

Salary: $35.00 - 37.38 per hour

Work hours: 9 to 5

Responsibilities

• Manage sample receipt, accessioning, tracking, and lifecycle management utilizing StarLIMS.


• Coordinate sample processing, labeling, storage, and monitoring of ultra-low temperature storage equipment.


• Reconcile sample inventory data across databases to prepare accurate lists for clinical trial testing.


• Organize and execute timely shipments of biomarker samples between investigator sites, central labs, and testing facilities.


• Oversee laboratory vendor relationships, track service level commitments, and resolve operational issues.


• Partner with Clinical Operations, Biomarker Scientists, and IT to improve bio-sample collection and management processes.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years (or Master's degree with 3+ years) of project management experience in oncology, biomarkers, or clinical trials.


• Hands-on experience with biosample management and clinical trial processes.


• Proficiency in StarLIMS or equivalent biosample tracking databases.


• Advanced expertise in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


• Strong understanding of ICH/GCP guidelines and biorepository best practices.
